At 67 metres long, the San Granit is the largest vessel of Sanford Ltd entire fleet. Estabilished in the 1880s by Albert Sanford.
The vessel is the only twin trawler in their deepwater fleet, which comes with automated horizontal plate freezers and vertical freezers, allowing for large volumes of product to be processed quickly.
The San Granit target is mainly hoki and squid requiring their freezing and fishing operations in the Southern Ocean where it is essential to have reliable fuel quality.

As can be seen in the images the fuel had been contaminated with salt water from hull damage, the fuel was transfered very quickly by the crew to other tanks with the left sample showing contamination and the right after PFMBlue fuel treatment with ALL fuel (even at the molecular level) being returned to the required oil industry standards of diesel fuel.

This contamination issue was entended to the majority of the vessels tanks and the 140,000 litres onboard.

Savings made……… existing containated fuel returned to stsndard $2.50NZD per litre, if fuel was to be disposed of as inductrial waste $10NZD per litre, new fuel not purchased $2.50NZD per litre or 13 tanks scrubed as always required with such an event.

Added bonus…..REDUCED EMMISSIONS.
