A summary of previous reports are as follows.
Pre install Fuel consumption was just over 10 litres/ per 100 km when used carrying no loads, travelled same tar sealed roads, majority travelled of roads of good quality inclines and surfaces.
15th Jan 2022 install
Immediate results noted engine running very noticeably quieter, smoother and had more “power” when used on tar sealed inclines.
10th March 2022
Fuel consumption dropped to 8.5 litres / per 100 km.
The engine is still very noticeably quieter, consistent increased engine performance noted.
Approx. 2 tanks of diesel had been used.
28th May 2022.
Unit was reported to have further improvements in fuel efficiency as time progressed.
Also noted was when utility was used to haul a stock trailer with heavy 2 Bulls on the highway and in 4wd on wet, boggy paddocks in country with rolling hills the consumption was still only around 8.15 litres per 100Km. The cabin noise from engine happily still at greatly reduced from pre-install, making long distance travel in the Cruiser much more enjoyable.
The highway use when not carrying a load was reported at approx. 6.5 Litres per 100km.
Update 23rd September 2022.
Vehicle has travelled 10,000 km since having last oil and filter change, at this point unit has been installed approximately 10 months.
Fuel consumption has been steady at 6.5 litres per 100km, before unit install 10 litres per 100km.
As oils contain a detergent it was decided to wipe dipstick before oil changed on a clean white paper towel and image the colour of oil, the oil was noticeably cleaner compared to preinstall oil changes (black carbon deposits in oil).
We believe as oils contain detergents and as the burn quality of the fuel combustion improves less carbon is deposited on the cylinder walls to be “washed” into the sump oil.
As the oil galleries will have now have cleaner oil flowing through them, the previously deposited carbon “Sludge” will be continued to be removed by these detergents, we propose that over subsequent oil changes the oil flushing of these galleries improves the oils ability to reduce wear of the engines components.
