S/V Bicho Papão, a cruising Lagoon 440, powered by 2 Yanmar 4JH5E of 54 hp each, has recently chosen to have a GP300-LP to be installed.
The unit was plumbed to assist in ensuring the fuel is maintained in the vessels 325 litre fuel tanks (one port, one starboard) at as high a standard as possible, but the unit also is to be used as a transfer pump (whilst polishing the fuel) keeping the “flying hull” weighted, making the most of the 44-foot catamaran’s sailing performance.
As the owners and their families want to next cruise into very remote South Pacific locations, reliably in all aspects of sailing equipment has been a priority including fuel quality.
